Position:
Varsity Head Coach

Jason Negro, originally from Bellflower, CA, graduated in 1991 from Saint John Bosco High School. While there, he lettered in both varsity football and baseball for two years. After graduation from Bosco, he attended Santa Ana College where he played collegiate baseball. His playing days were cut short due to a career-ending injury and from there he pursued his coaching career.

While completing his degree from California State University Dominguez Hills with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics, he coached youth football for the city of Bellflower for five years.

Coach Negro began his teaching career at his alma mater where he coached both varsity football and baseball. There, he coached defensive backs and linebackers and held the position of defensive coordinator for two years. After teaching and coaching for three years, he decided to move on, finding a home with the Mustangs at Trabuco Hills High School. Here he coached the varsity defensive backs in his first year and coached the inside linebackers in his second. In May of 2003, Coach Negro achieved his dream of becoming a head varsity football coach.

Coach Negro is starting his sixth season as head coach of the Mustangs. He has immensely enjoyed working with the entire football program and his coaching staff. He also appreciates all the support he receives from players, parents, the administration, and especially the parent booster club members. He plans to be a part of the Mustang family for many years to come and to build a strong and highly-respected football program.

Coach Negro currently resides in Fountain Valley with his wife, Carrie and their two beautiful daughters, Rylie (5-1/2 years) and Reese (3 years). In addition to his coaching duties, Mr. Negro is a full-time math teacher at THHS and serves as a member of the C.I.F Southern Section Football Coaches Advisory Board.
